In a recent conversation between Their Excellencies
the Governor and the General Officer Commanding, the latter expressed the opinion that Elliott Battery was no longer required by the Military Authorities. If that is so, this Government would wish to take over the site on which the Battery stands for an extension of the waterworks system. I enclose a plan, prepared by the Director of Public Works, of the area in question which measures 205,664 square feet or 4.72 acres and its value at 10 cents per square foot and $250 per acre will be
Premium:- 205,664 square feet at 10 cents. Crown Rent capitalized at 25 years' purchase
4.72 acres x 8250 = 81,180 x 25 years' purchase.

This sum would, if the transfer is effected, be credited to the War Department in the Military Lands Account,
